● Sartomer Company announced it has acquired two Akzo Nobel
specialty methacrylate monomer product lines, bolstering
its product offerings for coatings, adhesives and optical
lenses. Under terms of the agreement, Sartomer has
acquired the full Diacryl and Nourset product lines and
accompanying transesterification technology. During the
transition period, Sartomer will continue to market Diacryl
and Nourset products under Akzo Nobel trade names.
“Acquiring the transesterification technology is a real
coup,” said Nick Trainer, president of Sartomer. “With this
technology, we are able to develop and manufacture higher
purity products and better support optical, coating and
adhesive formulators. It’s a perfect complement to our
existing capabilities.”
